Argentina Rentista Visa – Residency Through Passive Income

Argentina’s Rentista Visa provides a temporary residency pathway for foreign nationals with a stable income from overseas investments. This visa is valid for 1 year, renewable for up to 3 years, and includes your spouse and children under 25.

Who Qualifies?

Minimum Annual Income: ARS 30,000 (from foreign investments or bank deposits)
Eligible Income Sources:

  • Investments in foreign banks or companies

  • Securities issued by Argentine banks (purchased with foreign funds)

  • Local bank deposit of at least ARS 30,000

📌 Note: Rentista Visa holders can own a business or be self-employed, but they cannot work as employees in Argentina.

Path to Permanent Residency & Citizenship

📌 To stay on track for citizenship, you must spend at least 6 months per year in Argentina.

  • Permanent Residency:

    • After 2 years for MERCOSUR citizens

    • After 3 years for non-MERCOSUR citizens

  • Citizenship:

    • Possible after 2 years of temporary residency (permanent residency is not required)

📢 If you leave Argentina for more than 6 months per year, renewal, permanent residency, and citizenship may not be possible.
